VIII. PC SetupExpiredEnabling Telnet in Windows Vista, Windows 7, 8 and 10

The Windows Telnet utility is commonly used for diagnostics on the Vigor routers. From Windows Vista, Telnet is no longer available by default. To enable it, follow these steps:

Click the Windows Start buttonSelect Control PanelSelect Programs or the Programs and Features iconSelect Turn Windows Features On or Off from the bar on the leftIn the Windows Features box, locate ‘Telnet Client’ in the list, enable it, and click ‘OK’.Wait until Windows finishes adding the feature, this can take a few minutes.

The Telnet utility will now be available from the Windows command prompt.
